Can you tell your average daily step count? If so, you’re doing a good job of tracking your fitness. Those who track their steps tend to be much more active than people who don't. They’re fitter and less likely to develop serious health conditions. After all, insufficient physical activity can contribute to the development of health conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and depression. Not to mention, it makes you more vulnerable to stroke and heart attack. Injury and broken bones also become major risks.

That said, simply knowing your average daily step count is not enough to determine whether or not you're healthy and fit. When embarking on your journey to include more physical activity, it is best to start small and set attainable goals. Counting your daily steps gives you a clear idea of your daily step count, helping you set achievable goals. For instance, you can set a goal of walking five times more steps than your current daily average.

Wearable trackers and smartwatches are a few of the most common ways people like to count their steps and track their journey. Additionally, many people also like to keep journals.

Wearable trackers come in various forms that you can attach to your body. Besides counting your steps, most trackers also report breath patterns and heartbeat. So you can keep track of your health. If you wish, you can keep a journal to log your daily steps.
